A. Third-Party Processing (Groq)

- Zero Data Retention (ZDR): We have enabled “Zero Data Retention.” Your chat prompts are processed in-memory and are not stored or logged by Groq.
- No Access or Monitoring: Neither LearningRO nor Groq accesses, reads, or monitors your real-time chat messages during the inference process.
- No Model Training: Your inputs are never used to train or improve the underlying AI models by us or our third-party providers.

6. AI Ethics, Bias, and Automated Decision Making
- No Automated Legal Effects: While our AI provides educational guidance, we do not use automated decision-making that produces legal effects or significantly affects you (such as automated grading that cannot be appealed or automatic account termination without human review).
- Bias Awareness: We acknowledge that AI models may reflect societal biases. We continuously work to provide a neutral and safe educational environment.
7. Third Parties & Data Processors
To provide a high-quality experience, we share limited data with the following essential service providers:
- Groq, Inc.: AI processing (ZDR enabled).
- Hostinger: Secure web hosting and database storage.
- Stripe / PayPal: Secure payment processing.
- Google Analytics: Anonymous website performance tracking.
- Email Services: To deliver account notifications and newsletters.
8. International Data Transfers & School Compliance
LearningRO primarily hosts data on secure servers within the European Economic Area (EEA) and the United Kingdom. To provide high-performance AI tutoring, we utilize specialized inference infrastructure provided by Groq, Inc., based in the United States.
We understand the strict requirements for educational environments. To ensure the highest level of protection and to satisfy school Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), we have implemented the following technical and organizational safeguards:
- Zero Data Retention (ZDR): All data sent to our AI processor is processed in volatile memory (RAM) only. No student data is stored, logged, or archived on US-based disks. Once a response is generated, the data is purged from the processor’s memory.
- No AI Training: We have a strict “no-training” agreement. Student inputs are never used by us or our providers to train, tune, or improve underlying AI models.
- Encryption in Transit: All data transferred between our UK servers and the AI infrastructure is protected by industry-standard TLS 1.2+ encryption.
- Legal Framework: Transfers are conducted under the UK-US Data Bridge (the UK Extension to the Data Privacy Framework) and, where applicable, Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs), ensuring compliance with the UK GDPR.
For schools requiring further documentation, LearningRO can provide a summary of our sub-processor security measures upon request.
9. Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies to:
- Essential: Keep you logged in and remember your course progress.
- Performance: Understand how users interact with our lessons via Google Analytics.
- Preferences: Remember your settings (e.g., dark mode or font size).
You can manage your preferences via our cookie banner or your browser settings.
10. AI Accuracy & Educational Disclaimer
Generative AI can occasionally produce inaccurate information. LearningRO is an educational aid; students should always cross-reference critical facts with official textbooks or teacher guidance. We are not liable for errors in AI-generated responses.
11. Users Under 16
LearningRO is an educational platform. In compliance with the UK Children’s Code:
- Users under 16 require parental/guardian permission to use interactive features like the AI chatbot.
- We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13.
12. Data Retention & Security
- Retention: We keep your data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data is removed from our active databases within 30 days, except where required for legal or tax records.
- Security: We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption and regular security audits to protect your information.
13. Your Rights
