This course tells the definitive story of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel (1875–1950), the “Iron Man of India.” He was the quiet, decisive leader who completed the impossible task of independence: creating the map of India itself.

We trace his journey from a self-made, undefeatable barrister to the national leader who earned the title “Sardar” during the Bardoli Satyagraha. As the Deputy Prime Minister, he built the “Steel Frame” of India’s administrative services (IAS/IPS) and, most crucially, used an ingenious mix of diplomacy and firmness (Sam, Dam, Dand, Bhed) to integrate 565 Princely States into a single, unified nation.
